Youth Leaders Recognized!

no place for hateDurango High School's Prejudice  Elimination Action Team (PEAT) was nationally recognized for the 7th year in a row for their inclusion and diversity work earning the designation as a No Place for Hate school. DHS was the first high school on the Western Slope to earn this designation from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) as a direct result of PEAT's ongoing anti-bias work in the school and community.

Check out the Durango Herald's press-coverage of one of PEAT's Diversity Week events collecting hand print signatures from fellow students on the resolution of respect.  These student efforts build many of the 40 Developmental Assets including #27 Equality and Social Justice,  #34 Cultural Competence & #38 Self-esteem.

 Congratulations and thank you PEAT!
